Introduction
DigTek is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our macOS app Remote for OM System.
Remote for OM System is designed with privacy as a fundamental principle. The app communicates exclusively with your camera over the local network — it makes no internet connections. We do not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information or usage data.
What We Don't Collect
- Personal information such as names, email addresses, or contact details
- Usage analytics, telemetry, or tracking of any kind
- Your photos, live view frames, or any image data
- Your exposure presets or camera settings
- Your camera's model, serial number, or configuration
- Device information or technical specifications
- Network information beyond what macOS needs to reach the camera
The Local Network Permission
On first launch, macOS asks for Local Network access. This permission exists for one reason: the app's entire function is talking to your camera, which appears as a device on the WiFi network the camera itself creates. The app communicates with the camera's fixed local address and with nothing else on your network — it does not scan, discover, or contact other devices.
The app requests no other network capability. It cannot reach the internet, and has nothing to send there.
How Your Data Stays Private
- Local network only: Every connection goes to your camera on its own WiFi network — nothing else, ever
- No internet: The app makes no internet connections and has no server side
- No third-party services: No analytics, advertising, or tracking services
- No account creation: No sign-ups, logins, or user accounts
- Nothing retained: Live view frames and review images are displayed and discarded — the app keeps no copy of your photographs
What Stays on Your Mac
Remote for OM System stores the following, all locally on your disk:
- Your named exposure presets, as a plain JSON file in the app's own folder — readable, exportable, and yours
- App preferences (settings such as sounds and auto-reconnect) and window state
- Any camera report you save yourself (Help ▸ Save Camera Report) — a plain-text file describing what your camera model reports over WiFi, written only where you choose to put it, with serial numbers stripped before it is written. It is never sent anywhere; you decide whether to email it to us.
Your photographs stay where they always were: on the camera's memory card. The app displays live view and review images during a session but does not write them to disk. This data never leaves your Mac. We have no access to it.
Apple and the App Store
Remote for OM System is distributed through the Mac App Store. Apple may collect information related to your download according to Apple's Privacy Policy. We receive anonymized, aggregate download data from Apple — we cannot identify individual users.
Contact
If you contact us by email at developer@digtek.app, we will receive your email address and whatever information you choose to include. The app's "Send Feedback" command pre-fills a draft with the app version and your macOS version — you see exactly what it contains before you choose to send it, and nothing is sent without you. We use your message only to respond to your inquiry and do not add it to any mailing list or share it with third parties.
Children's Privacy
Remote for OM System is suitable for users of all ages. Since we don't collect any personal information, there are no special considerations for users under 13.

Changes to This Policy
If we ever change how we handle data (which is unlikely given our no-data approach), we will update this policy and notify users through the App Store.

Remote for OM System is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or produced by OM Digital Solutions or OM System. "OM System" and "OM-1" are used descriptively, to state which cameras the app is compatible with.
