Kristiansand, Norway - October 21, 2025 β When DigTek released its first press announcement on August 28 with six iOS apps, it marked the end of an 8-week summer of intense development. But instead of taking a break, they have continued to produce: 5 new apps, over 20 blog articles, and a book.
In October, DigTek released a book Life as User Experience: Designing Your Days According to Software Principles.
"The book is about applying software design principles to life β with an honest look at what fails. It builds on Norwegian design philosophy and the thinking behind my apps: that constraints can be liberating, not limiting."

From Six to Eleven Apps
Since August, DigTek has added five new apps to its portfolio:
- WonderScout β Daily discovery missions that encourage exploring the world beyond screens
- Ancestrix β Norwegian-language genealogy app focused on understandable relationships
- BookMaster β Elegant digital bookmark for physical books
- JustWrite β Calendar-based journaling with modern iOS design
- DailyWit β On-device AI-powered "wits" (witty wisdom)
All apps follow the same philosophy as the original six: one clear function, no data collection, and 100% offline functionality.
The Book
Life as User Experience is available on Apple Books and explores how software principles can be applied to life design. The 138-page book covers themes including:
- Constraint as liberation
- Seasonal adjustment β adapting systems to changing circumstances
- Graceful degradation β systems that handle failures elegantly
- Norwegian concepts like "digg" and "takk for nΓ₯" as design principles
- Intentional defaults β environmental design that makes the right choices automatic
The book is accompanied by a free companion workbook that lets readers reflect on the principles.
"This isn't a book about optimization or productivity hacks. It's a book about designing a life that actually fits you β appropriately unfinished, sustainably lived, and digg."
An Active Blog
Alongside app and book releases, DigTek has published a stream of thought pieces on topics including constraint-driven design, AI-assisted development, the attention economy, and Norwegian minimalism. The blog is available at digtek.app/blog.html and via RSS feed.
DigTek's growth demonstrates how AI-assisted development can work for solo developers without formal programming backgrounds β but more importantly: it shows that constraints, thoughtful design, and respect for users' attention can still be profitable principles in 2025.
