Happy New Year.
No resolutions. No grand announcements. Just an acknowledgment that the calendar turned and the work continues.
What's Been Happening
The holidays brought what holidays should bring: rest, family, and that particular darkness that makes you appreciate candles and slow mornings.
But in the occasional hour when happenstance allowed for it — there's been work happening.
The iOS apps are getting attention. Nothing dramatic, but the kind of maintenance that keeps things running smoothly.
The «hidden» Mac apps continue to evolve. The ones we showed in December, and a few we didn't. These tools remain our private laboratory — where ideas get tested before they might (or might not) become something more.
The Book, Paused
The revision of Life as User Experience went on pause for the holidays. Intentionally.
There's something fitting about setting aside a book about life design during the time of year when you're supposed to actually live rather than produce. But now it's time to pick it up again. Chapter by chapter. Sentence by sentence. Making it more digg, as we say.
What 2026 Might Bring
We don't do roadmaps. We don't promise features. But there are threads being followed:
- More iOS app refinements (always)
- The book revision (finally)
- Perhaps something new from the Mac app laboratory
- More podcast episodes exploring constraint-driven design
The pattern remains the same: small, focused work. One thing at a time. Constraint as liberation.
A Thought for the New Year
The best tools don't demand resolutions. They just work—quietly supporting whatever you decide to do.
That's what we're trying to build. Apps that are there when you need them, invisible when you don't. A book that offers frameworks without prescriptions. A philosophy that trusts you to know what you need.
So: Happy New Year. May it be passe — just enough of everything that matters.
For more on the constraint philosophy, listen to The Constraint Protocol podcast or explore our iOS apps. The book revision continues—follow along on the blog.
